All in your head

Heather leaned against the wall with her arms folded. She could still see the concern in his warm eyes. If only it were concern for her and not that Emily.

halloween time

Title:  Wiji Tales

Jake walked along the street kicking at the ground.  Halloween time again. He loved dressing up as a child.  The decorations, the costumes and the candy.

His mother enjoyed passing out candy and even started to dress up a little herself each year.

“Jake? Jake.  I have been calling your name from about a block back.  You were in some kind of dream world.”

It was Stanley.  He stepped in time with Jake as they walked straight ahead.

“Well, tonight’s Halloween.  Dress up time.  Any plans?”  Stanley asked as if nothing had happened.

No bombs had gone off or anything.  Jake stared at him in disbelief.

“Plans?”

“Yeah, plans.  Like what are you doing?  Mimi and I are going to help out at the town hall.  All the kids are getting together for a party.”

Stanley shrugged his shoulders and stuffed his hands in his pockets.  “You know, since they can’t really go house to house anymore. It’s not really safe.”

“I heard they were doing something like that.”  He took a deep breath.  “I have an idea.”

“What is your idea?”  Stanley looked a Jake and smiled.

Jake looked up with a spark in his eyes.

“It’s a surprise.  Get Mimi, Emily and Heather together.  Meet me at the old Collins place in an hour.”

With that, Jake turned on his heel and quickly walked away.

It was dusk when they all arrived to find Jake in the house alone.  He sat on the floor with a wiji board in front of him.  Candles were surrounding him.

“Oh, please.  We haven’t done this since we were, well…”  Emily began.

Stanley scoffed and threw his hands up in the air. “Very funny, Jake.”  He grabbed Mimi’s hand and started to walk back out the door.

Mimi hesitated and stared at Jake.  “It has been years since I have seen one of those.  Where did you get that?”

Jake smiled at her.  “It was in my closet at home. Mom never cleaned it out.  We used to come here and play sometimes.  We always played every Halloween.  It scared the snot out of us too!”  He grinned up at Emily and Stanley.

“I remember these things.”  Heather quickly said as she sat down near Jake.  Jake let a small giggle escape.

Emily rolled her eyes and sat on the other side of Jake.  Both women at either side looked at him waiting.

Jake cleared his throat nervously.  “Join us guys.  Sit down.”

Stanley huffed and grumbled as he sat down.  Mimi smiled bounced beside Stanley.

“What do we do first?”  She eagerly sang out.

“Well, we all need to concentrate and clear our minds.”  Jake said.

“Oh, easy to clear our minds.  Not much to think about these days, no, nothing going on at all.”  Stanley sarcastically said.

Mimi shot him a look that told him to stop.  He made a face and huffed.

They sat for what seemed like hours when Jake woke up out of a trance.  “Let’s ask a question.”

“I have one.  What does the future hold?”  Stanley loosely said.  Everyone looked at him and sighed.

Stanley, come on.  Take it seriously.”  Mimi complained

“You want me to take a board game seriously??  Let’s go back home and play another game.”  He leaned over to her and kissed her on the nose.  She backed away and sighed.

“Okay, let’s ask that question, Stan.  What does the future hold?”

All their hands lightly piled on each other.  The pointer started to move slowly and point to letters.

They all looked at each other as the letters were selected quickly.

“No way!” Jake let go of the pointer and scooted back away from the board.

Heather and Emily grabbed at him.  He stared at them all in shock.  Stanley was left holding onto a shaking Mimi.

My first attempt at a Jericho Fanfic.  Be gentle.  Cannot figure out how to do the undercut part.  I keep "doing it" but it is not taking.

Title:One fine day
By: jerichodoll

Heather looked at herself in the full length mirror. She adjusted the bodice and frowned.
“Stop, Heather!” Emily sighed with her hands on her hips.

Heather turned towards her smoothing out the imaginary wrinkles.
“I don’t know why I bought this dress. I should have taken the one with sleeves. This is just not me.”
“I think it is you. You look beautiful. Jake will love it.” Emily smiled.

Heather was her best friend and this was her day. She looked beautiful in her wedding dress. The sleeveless bodice narrowed down to her waist and the skirt flowed straight to her ankles, not quite touching the ground. Her white shoes peeked out so elegantly. She wore a floral wreath with ribbons on her head.

“Do you think this was a mistake? I mean do you think we are moving too fast?”

“Heather, love doesn’t know how fast or slow to go. When Jake came back, we were all taken aback. We didn’t know if he was staying or leaving.”

“Well, I mean, uh, do you; well, are you upset with me?” Emily looked at her confused.
“I mean, you were his girlfriend.”

“Oh, no! Jake and I were over when he left. I moved on. I am very happy and you will be my maid of honor soon. Jake and I are just friends and that is all we will ever be.”

Heather sighed and smiled. She didn’t know what she would do without Emily. She had introduced Jake to her. Heather could not stop thinking about him from that moment on.   Jake, Heather and Emily had gone out together and soon it became Heather and Jake only. And here she stood a few months later about to be Mrs. Jake Green.

“Heather, you are just glowing.” Gail Green peeked her head in the room and gushed. Heather loved her soon to be mother-in-law.

“Do you think Jake will like it?” Heather asked

Emily laughed. “I have told her she looks beautiful.”

“You look like a dream, sweetheart. Jake will be ecstatic.” Gail held her hands. Heather jumped when she heard the music start.

“It’s almost time.” She turned quickly to the mirror and fussed.

Emily pulled her away and held her face in her hands. “You look beautiful. Stop. Calm down. You don’t want Jake to see you all red in the face and sweaty” They all laughed.

“Jake will be so happy. I am going to go sit down. Father Beck likes to start on time.”

Gail walked out and took her place by her husband. They both looked at their sons in front of them. Both were grown men, and so handsome. Jake and Eric had black and white striped ties with their tuxes. Their yellow roses were bright on the lapel. Gail snapped a quick picture before Jake and Eric could make a silly pose. The silly pose ensued; Eric felt Jakes forehead as Jake put his hands to his mouth. Gail snapped another picture and shook her head.

Father Beck stepped out to take his place and the boys cleared their throats and stood up straight. They looked like little children getting caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

The music changed tempo as Emily walked down the isle. Jake smiled. He owed Emily thanks for introducing him to Heather.

The music changed again and everyone stood up. Jake tried to look around everyone to see his bride. He smiled ear to ear when he caught sight of her. The ribbons from her head wreath were tickling her back. She smiled when she saw Jake. He looked handsome. He held out his hand for her as she walked closer to him.

“Heather, Heather! She’s back with us.” Mimi looked at Stanley and smiled weakly.

“Wha, where am I?” Heather stammered

“You’re at our house. The Richmond place. We found you on the side of the road passed out. What were you doing?”

The door opened and Jake rushed in.

“Bonnie told us you found her. How is she?” Jake knelt down and soothed her hair back.

“She is weak. How did she get out without anyone knowing?” Mimi asked

“The hospital is a mess. So many people.” Jake shook his head,” She just walked out, she was so delirious.”

Heather shook her head, no, she was at her wedding. She wasn’t in any hospital. She was at her wedding with Jake. Everyone was there. Everyone was there.
